I learned that scientists took brain scans and they see increased activity in regions directly correlated with decreased anxiety and depression along with increased pain tolerance.

Ommmmm... Mind Blown! Not only is meditation relaxing, it's beneficial too?! I learned that meditation increases alpha brain waves, which are the ones that promote positive thoughts. Also your brain grows in size and are more tolerant if you meditate consistently. When you get cancer or other diseases, that may be due to shortened telomere lengths. But meditating helps to provide telomerase, which helps to grow your telomere. I also learned that meditaters can fight off a virus easier than a non-meditater. Again..Mind- blown!!
