I think we should celebrate as to there are both pros and cons. As well, we could see during our debate today. They are both apart of history. They are both the pride to many people. So I think we should celebrate both.

I think that we should celebrate Indigenous Peoples day, because I really don't think that Columbus is a good person. He did many things, and he ended up lying about some of them. He said that he 'found' America when people already had some settlements and lived there, and he made then his slaves, he forced them to work for him and chose violence after they did nothing. He made them work for him, and he even forced religion on them! Many innocent people were tortured, and many even murdered, all because of Columbus. Columbus didn't do anything good there, all he did was make innocent people's lives miserable. He did things to them that are against today's Constitution! Why would we want to celebrate somebody who today would be seen as a criminal? Yes, his expedition inspired many others which let to some actual discoveries, but I don't think that justifies what he did to people in any way.
