I already knew how to do the "Rectangle Method" by going through some of my sister's old school book and looking over the work she did. However, this video is very helpful for kids that don't have any experience with it and need help doing it.

Oh, I get it now. The perimeter goes around and the area stays inside. I used to get mixed up but now I will ace that next test.

In addition to Rohan you add when doing perimeter and multiple when doing area.

I learned that you want to use rectangles when you are trying to find out the area of a shape that is not a square or rectangle.

This method is amazing, no algorithms! All you do is find right triangles, enclose them, find the area of the rectangle half it then add the parts (if there are more than one).

Its amazing, all you have to do is make a right triangle a rectangle and then find the are of that then divide by 2.

I can do this but on Khan Academy, you have to do it with quadrilaterals that don't have any sides touching the borders and counting is impossible.
