I am surprised that they can make something go 201 miles per hour.

The article is about a team of students from Germany that created a 1st place pod in Elon Musk's second Hyperloop Competition. Hyperloop is when pods, levitated by air, travel through underground tunnels. They beat WARR Hyperloop from the Technical University of Munich who had won the first competition, in January 2018. Their team had created a pod made of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, that weighed only 176 lbs. The pod was a prototype since the tunnels were only 6 feet. Musk actually envisions huge pods for tunnels that can accommodate a large amount of people, in the letter he wrote introducing the topic in 2014. He imagined trips from San Francisco to LA, that would require speeds of 760 mph. The WARR team's pod was powered by an electric motor and lithium-polymer batteries. Pneumatic brakes were used to stop. Musk has plans which include making the systems entirely self-powered, by installing solar panels above the tunnels. Many teams that were not in the competition have heard Musk's idea and been experimenting with possibilities as well. Pod travel is a very interesting and organized idea, with much potential, but it is not perfect. One big issue is safety. Any slight kink, such as California's frequent earthquakes, could ruin the system. The air compressor that levitates the pods would need to be fail-proof, or else an immediate crash might result. That is a summary on what the article is about.

I think hyper-speed will be too much for this world because we aren't ready for this generation of technology. also because if there are some flaws in it and something might go wrong. I know scientists see if anything needs fixed, but they might not try things that one way, and everything could go wrong.

wow this is amazing it's so cool how a team of students sent a carbon plastic pod through a tube at 201 mph how did they do this. that is very in impressive.

i think it is AMAZING that that team of students made that amazing hyperloop that goes 201 miles an hour i think the should make it faster then a plane! i wonder how safe it is what happens if a earthquake or hurricane hits or tornado ? i honestly dont think it is safe i'd rather go on a plane or train.
