You have to do this problem in a special order,P.E.M.D.A.S. (Parentheses, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) The answer is 12.

I learned alot from this video. The video was about order of operation. Order of operation is just a math rule. This math rule tells what math operation like multiplication or addition to do first. The rules of order of operation is first: use Parentheses and Brackets in order of operation. Next:use it in exponents. Then: do it in Multiplication and Division. Last: do Addition and Subtraction.

I first do the multiplication 2x2 to get 4, then multiply 4 by 3 to get 12. Next, I add 5 and 3 to get 8. Then I decrease 8 by 12 to get -4.
