I cant believe some people on airplanes actually started taping this eruption which could have risked there lives. Its so cool how scientists predicted what would happen and got there answer.

Mount St. Helens is definitely a very dangerous volcano. Even through our technology and resources it could still kill 57. That's a lot.

Mount St. Helens erupted in Washington's Cascade mountains. Scientists predicted that when the mountain erupted it would either erupt in the classic vertical way or that it would erupt sideways which would cause more damage. Sadly the volcano erupted sideways so more lives and structures were damaged. Rock and Lava shoot out at up to speeds of 400 mph. 13,000 ft. of Mount St. Helens brook off during the eruption. The choking ash makes the sky turn dark. Breathing was becoming almost impossible.

WOW! First off, the first video was really cool. Seeing lava up that close was absolutely amazing. It showed what lava can do to an everyday object. Although, I feel bad for those people who lost their Go-Pro! The second video was also cool. It sort of ties into our science. We always make predictions and then test them. That is what real professional scientists did in this video. They predicted that if the explosion went straight upward it wouldn't do too much damage. However, if it exploded sideways, it would destroy much more. On the day of the explosion, they found out their answer. There was another (unpredictable) natural disaster at the moment Mt. St. Helens erupted. An earthquake. This earthquake caused the explosion to expand and destroy so much. 57 people died. This was the deadliest and most destructive eruption in U.S history.

Wow, this Go-Pro footage must be really helpful to people learning about volcano and studying them.

Mount St. Helens really blew its top off. It erupted on May 18, 1980. The volcano, located in southwestern Washington. its highest point was 9,600 feet (3,000 meters) above sea level. The eruption, which removed the upper 1,300 feet (396 meters) of the summit, brought it back to 8,300 feet (2604 meters).

These video are so crazy! They are showing lava up close. I feel like sometime lava is fake or made up, but seeing these video makes tells me that lava is there and always will be. I was looking close at the movement and the color of the lava. It moves slow and steady, but can speed up it's pace. The color is interesting, it is dark red at the top and as an ombre of red as you can tell. It is crazy how this red disappears once the lava is hard and cold. It turn almost competently black. The ombre is now gone! Volcanoes are really dangerous but helpful to the earth. Well, obviously the lava is hot and can burn people to death, but it expands the earth. Hawaii the island was not there at first it was developed by volcanoes and lava flowing. All in all volcanoes and lava are really really cool!

I saw the lava slowly crawl down the volcano and then it set fire and was engulfed in lava and it was a orange/red blur and then all became black and then the fire came again and they took out the go pro.
