To me, I think it is interesting about how volcanologists listen to the infrastructure with certain microphones that listen to the lava lakes near. the magma chamber.

I learned that in Stanford and Boise State University found that by monitoring the infra sound detected by monitor stations on the slopes of the Villarrica volcano in Chile. Seismic activity can be a good indicator of a volcano eruption. Infra readings are proven reliable and need to be confirmed in other environments and on other volcanoes. This has only been tested on open vent volcanoes where an exposed lake or channels of lava connect the volcanos` inner fire to the atmosphere.

I think that they should use this strategy a lot more. I really think that it will be reliable in the future, because listening to sounds can tell you a lot. One pro of this is that you don't have to drill into the earth to figure out if the volcano will erupt. This is why I think this strategy is an excellent one.

I think it is amazing how just by listening to a volcano you can find out when it is going to erupt. This discovery could save millions of lives. If only they knew this in pompeii when mount vesuvius erupted and all those people could have been saved. We should definitely use this in the future and maybe it could predict when a super volcano will erupt.
