I learned a lot of new facts! For example, now I know that there is a gigantic reservoir 660 kilometers under the earth's surface, it has enough water to fill the oceans water 3 times over! I also learned that earth once was purple, not green! That happened because there were microbia that were purple on the earth. But then a green organism prevailed because it was more efficient in absorbing sunlight. One other fact that I learned is that the largest mountain range is actually under water! It stretches 20 times as long as the longest mountain range on land. Plus, now I learned that the earth is actually like a squashed ball! Not a perfectly round sphere. Another fact that I learned was that the earth's magnetic field is always rotating. So whales and pigeons that rely on the magnetic field for navigation might have trouble if in their lifetime the magnetic field makes a change. The last fact that I learned was that the tectonic plates are always moving, too. So in the long future all the continents will merge together again. In addition to that, Hawaii is floating 3 inches annually towards Alaska! Those are the amazing facts that I learned from this video.

Its amazing how earth works in different ways. Can you believe that there's a secret ocean that we didn't know until now! Water can create amazing things like the grand canyon.

While watching the left sided video, I learned that a lot of how land gets it's forms. Wind - It causes small, lose particles to move from one place to another. This causes dunes, and smooth land to be formed. Water- It causes rocks and edges of rivers to either be carried, or carved away. This causes boulders to be put in unusual places, and the river tat carved the edges to be deep on top of the soil. Lava and Volcanoes - It causes its liquid to spread and cool to form solid rock. It makes the land it cooled on look bumpy and black. This can make islands and mountains. I know a thing in real life that was not in the video, I will tell you. Glaciers - It can make valleys and lakes as it moves slowly across land. This causes holes and ridges on its coarse. I hope one of the things listed can teach you a lesson for the forming of earth.

I learned that there is reservoir underwater located below the Earth’s surface that is enough to fill our oceans 3 times over. Also, I learned that retreating glaciers change gravity like the Hudson Bay, Canada where there is less gravity. There are also longer days because of natural disasters and the moon and sun’s gravity. Another thing is that a long time ago there was a super continent named Pangea which slowly seperated into continents and islands we know now due to tectonic plates shifting. The Earth is also not a perfect sphere due to the rotation of Earth along with mountins, canyons, and valleys. Even though I already knew about Pangea and the Mid Ocean Ridge System, the video told me a little more.

I learned that there is a secret reservoir of water located beneath the earth's surface and that that can fill the earth's oceans three times over. I also learned that in different places on the the globe gravity is affected more and less. I saw this even though I already new it but the earths days are gradually getting larger every single century. Even though that's not very long the earth been around for along time. I also learned that Pangaea was the first continent that was a single combined land mass. In about 4 billion years earth will have all of it's oceans evaporate. Time to go down to that underground reservoir we learned about. Some think that earth didn't use chlorophyll to harness the suns energy it used retinal which gives off a purple hue. Earth isn't a perfect globe. There is a mountain range mostly underwater. Because the earth's magnetic field is changing animals who depend on earth's mag. field to navigate might have to chane how they find there way.

Scientist have discovered a "Secret Ocean" located 660 kilometers beneath earths surface. It is hidden inside a blue rock called ringwoodite and it is acting like a sponge trapping hydrogen and water. Some places on Earth have uneven gravity such as Hudson Bay Canada. The small amount of land mass causes this location to have less gravity. 620 million years ago there was only 21.9 hours in a day! Each century the moon and suns gravity adds 1.7 milliseconds to a day. Also the 2011 earthquake in Japan shortened the length of each Earth day. In 1 billion years the sun will get %10 hotter and brighter than now. In 4 billion years the Earth will be 750 degrees Farenheight and will make human life impossible. In 7.5 billion years Earth will become a desert very similar to Mars and the sun will expand into a red giant. There are 8.7 million species on Earth. Molecules developed living things and replicated like DNA. The molecules were either from space or developed on Earth. Planet Earth is a bumpy uneven globe.

I loved the experiment on rivers and dams. Our dam was so close to being invincable. If we added a little more rocks and sand at the top of the right side the water wouldn't drain out at all and we would've made a lake, like the other groups did.

I never new that in Canada the gravity is different it was a little bit less even though most people think that gravity is even all around the earth. I didn’t know that 620 million years ago the days only lasted 21.9 hours each day. The only reason why the hours were extended was because of the ocean tides generated by the moon and the sun. Every century the ocean tides added 1.7 millisecond. The length of the day can be extended by the natural disasters in life, one earthquake discreased our day by about 1.8 mincoseconds because it caused the earth to move slightly faster. In my mine that is insane! I didn’t know that there was a supercontinent called Pangaea about 300 million years ago and it broke up into all the continents we know today 175 years ago because the earth’s tectonic plates moving. The Pangaea covered 1/3 of the earth when all the land was together. In 250 years all of the land and the continents will come together again, it is already starting beacuse every year Hawaii moves 3 inches closer to Alaska. In the next 1.1 billions years scientists think that the sun will get brighter and hotter by 10 present causing the earth’s ocean to evaporate and the earth will reach about 750 Fahrenheit. They also think that earth will become like mars and the sun will expand eating up the earth creating the death of our planet. I had know idea that the earth is not a perfect sphere it is bump because of the rapid rotation that causes it to push outwards at the equator. This makes Mount Everest not the tallest mountain, Mount Cimborazo is. I learned so much from this one video.

In paragraph 5 (the one that talks about the Sun getting brighter and hotter) it should say will instead of fill. Also in paragraph 6 (the one that talks about the Earth being purple) the second word should be lowercase.

Earth is the third planet from the Sun and is the largest of the terrestrial planets. The Earth is the only planet in our solar system not to be named after a Greek or Roman deity. The Earth was formed approximately 4.54 billion years ago and is the only known planet to support life. Earth is an ovoid (a 3D oval). At the equator, the circumference of the globe is 24,901 miles (40,075 kilometers). At the equator, you would weigh less than if standing at one of the poles. The fiery award for Earth’s hottest spot goes to El Azizia, Libya, where temperature records from weather stations say it hit 136 degrees Fahrenheit (57.8 degrees Celsius) on September 13, 1922, according to NASA Earth Observatory. The lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth came from Russia's Vostok Station, where records show the air dropped to a chilly minus 128.6 degrees F (minus 89.2 degrees C) on July 21,1983. The summit of Mount Everest is higher above sea level than the summit of any other mountain, extending up to 29,029 feet (8,848 meters) high. However, when measured from its true base to summit, Mauna Kea is higher, measuring a length of about 56,000 feet (17,170 m).

How low can you go? The deepest point on the ocean floor is 35,813 feet (10,916 meters) below sea level in the Mariana Trench. The lowest point on Earth not covered by ocean is 8,382 feet (2,555) meters below sea level, but good luck walking there. That spot is in the Bentley Sub-glacial Trench in Antarctica, buried under tons (literally) of ice.

Thunder and lightning reveal our planet's fiercer side. A single stroke of lightning can heat the air to around 54,000 degrees Fahrenheit (30,000 degrees Celsius). That air creates a shock wave and ultimately a boom, better known as thunder. Did you know there are about 6,000 lightning flashes around the Earth every minute?

The oceans cover 70 percent of Earth's surface, yet humans have only explored about 5 percent, meaning 95 percent of the planet's vast seas have never been seen. 300 million years ago, there was just one continent, a massive super-continent called Pangaea, which means there was just one giant ocean, called Panthalassa.

Many researchers think some large object crashed into Earth long ago, and the resulting debris to collide with each other making the Moon. It is unclear though if that colliding object was a planet, asteroid or comet, with some scientists thinking a Mars-size named Theia.

The largest volcanic eruption recorded by humans occurred in April 1815, the peak of the explosion of Mount Tambora. The eruption ranked 7 (or "super-colossal") on the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI), which goes from 1 to 8 and is somewhat akin to the magnitude scale for earthquakes. The explosion is said to have been so loud it was heard on Sumatra Island, more than 1,200 miles (1,930 km) away. The death toll from the eruption was estimated at 71,000 people, and clouds of heavy ash descended on many far-away islands.

Don't like crowds? Stay away from Manila. This city in the Philippines is the most densely populated in the world, with the most people crammed into the smallest city limits. As of 2007, 1,660,714 people were living in 14.8 square miles (38.55 square kilometers).

If you really need space, go to Greenland! It's the 12th largest country in the world in terms of area, but its population is just 56,480 in 2017 with a population density of only 0.026 people per square kilometer, which ranks 244th in the world (the least densely populated country).
