I learned that it was found in 1996 on the isle of Skye. Also I learned that it was the ruler of the sea i believe that was true because all the fish were terrified of it.

This was amazing to learn about. At first reading the article I thought this found recently. In fact this was found about 60 years ago. The reason they did not immediately start studding the fossil is simple. The one reason is that they didn't have the technology. Now the scientist are studding this fascinating fossil because of the newly discovered technology. I hope that the researchers will release their information to the public about the new species so I can learn about it.

I learned about the ichthyosaur. it lived in dinosaur times and was at the top of the food chain. it was discovered a long time ago but scientists didn't have the knowledge to research it so they marked it unknown and put it in the Scottish museum but now scientists are researching it again.

I found this articale intresting because more then 170 million years ago they discoverd a monster like a dolphin but looks like in the sketch a sea dinosuar. I know about sea dinosuars because when I went to a Aquarium they had a entire area for them. P.S prof of the Lochness monster!

That is so cool 170 million years ago they discovered an amazing creature and now they may have found it. Just like N ick maybe it could be the Lochness monster that would be awesome! alson the icthyosaur was on the top of the food chain in dinosaur times so now it could be on the top of the food chain and wee'd be at the bottom

My question is: Is this sea monster dangerous to people?

That was a really detailed article about the ichthyosaur. The sheer size of that monster is suprising. It's the size of a small boat. I also learned that the vertabrae of the ichthyosaur is amazing because it sticks out like dominoes. I was shocked by the fact that the fossil was found almost fifty years ago. Scientists found the fossil in 1966 on the Isle of Skye. It took them half a century to put the pieces of the puzzle together, and finally find out what it was. They also discovered that the creature has cone-shaped teeth, used to bite into fish. This fossil is actually really rare because it lived in the Middle Jurassic period and the fossils in that time aren't usually found. But, the biggest thing I learned was, the ichthyosaur definitely ruled the seas.

the scientists discovered it so long ago they didn't have enough knowledge to know what to call it so they wrote unknown.

Wow! Its a good thing the Storr Lochs Monster is not alive now. Its amazing how old it is and how long it took until somebody stumbled onto it.
