When you count an area you count square units. Each square unit is 1 foot high and 1 foot wide.

If you want to find the area of something you have to do the base times the height, or in other words length times width

i learned that you can calculate the area of something by either counting the unit squares or doing its length x width

I learned that you can do LxW to find the area and you can also count up all of the square units in the (middle) or like the inside of the perimater to find the area.

to find a area you add leagth 2 times and width 2 times

I learned that the formula, L x W=A. When you count up area, you count in square units. For example a square foots measurement would be 1 foot by 1 foot. In area you count up the amount of square units that fill up one shape.
