it was so smart of NASA to do training on earth and pretend they were on Mars because they could monitor them.

This article was fascinating. i couldn't believe they put the astronauts into critical conditions like that! This reminds me of the enormous pools NASA has in their training facilities. These pools help the astronauts to cope with zero G.

Six scientists, engineers and astronauts completed a full year in a simulated mars habitat. It is called the Hawaiian Space Exploration Analog and Simulator, also know as HI-SEAS. Inside there is a 1,200- square-foot dome with a sleeping loft, two small bathrooms, a small kitchen and a storage area stocked with food. They could go for Mars walks with their full body space suits. They could communicate through email or text with their family and friends, but each time they sent a message it would take 20 minutes to send, doing to how long it takes to actually send a message from Mars to Earth. Just to send one message and for them to reply once would take 40 minutes! In the past 2 other groups of people attempted this mission but did not last as long as this group. By practicing with these high technology simulator we are getting 1 step closer to having humans walk on Mars.
